How to Accept Stablecoin Payments In Person with a QR Code

Use an existing tablet or computer to take in-person stablecoin payments, show the correct QR instructions, and verify payment before completing a sale.

The short answer

You can take an in-person stablecoin payment by opening an issued checkout on a connected tablet or computer. The QR contains the receiving address; the customer must still select the correct asset, network, amount, and any required memo. Complete the sale after verified payment.

Start with the device already on your counter

A customer wants to pay with stablecoins at an appointment, shop or event. With Ulasend, you can create an invoice and open its hosted checkout on an existing tablet or computer with an internet connection. The customer follows the payment instructions using their own wallet. You do not need to purchase a dedicated Ulasend terminal. Explore in-person QR checkout.

Keep the order in your normal sales workflow and use the online checkout to collect its payment. Staff should be able to show the full payment instructions, find the current invoice status and explain the next step to the customer.

Confirm the payment source before creating the invoice

Ask which supported stablecoin and network the customer can use. Check that your business accepts that combination, then create the invoice for the sale and open its checkout. An issued live checkout keeps its original currency and network. If the customer needs another source, prepare a new invoice before they send anything. See how source selection works.

For a hypothetical $120 appointment, record the service and order reference in your usual sales workflow. Use the exact payment amount displayed by the resulting checkout, including any applicable processing fee, rather than asking the customer to estimate the number of tokens from the advertised service price.

Explain what scanning the QR actually does

For current provider-routed Ulasend crypto checkouts, the QR contains the receiving address. Scanning it does not automatically select the correct currency, network or amount. The customer must check those fields in their wallet and include a memo if checkout requires one. Read the QR checkout details.

A useful staff explanation is: 'Scan this address, then match the coin, network and amount shown here before you send.' Keep the full instructions visible. Do not crop the display down to the QR alone or reuse a screenshot from an earlier sale.

  • Keep the current invoice and amount visible while the customer reviews their wallet.
  • Ask the customer to cover any network or withdrawal fee so the requested amount arrives.
  • Use the current instructions for this payment only.
  • Let the customer operate their own wallet and confirm the transfer themselves.

Complete the sale from your payment record

A wallet's 'sent' screen confirms an action by the customer, not completion of your order. Keep the sale open while Ulasend processes the payment. Before handing over goods or closing the appointment balance, confirm the current invoice is paid and the recorded amount meets the order's payment requirements. Processing times vary by network and settlement route. Review hosted checkout and fulfillment.

If the amount is short or the invoice needs review, explain that you are checking the payment. Do not tell the customer to scan again and send a second transfer without reviewing the existing attempt. A completed provider route may not accept a top-up.

Make the counter workflow easy to repeat

Keep the Ulasend invoice reference alongside your normal order or receipt record so staff can find the right payment if a customer returns. If a transfer is still processing, record a contact method and agree on the next update instead of promising a fixed confirmation time.

Train staff on one approved payment flow before offering it during a busy event. Check your connection, confirm the account can accept live payments and practice finding an invoice's current status. A successful in-person setup gives customers clear instructions and gives your team a reliable decision about when the sale is complete.
